Privacy Policy

How SelfMirror collects, uses, protects, and gives you control over your information.

Effective date: 19 July 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the SelfMirror mobile application, website, and related services (“SelfMirror”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). SelfMirror provides guided meditation, self-reflection, progress tracking, wellness insights, clarity questions, and related features.

By using SelfMirror, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. This policy should be read together with any additional notices shown when a particular feature is used.

Wellness notice: SelfMirror is intended to support general self-reflection and mental wellness. It is not a medical service and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, crisis care, or professional mental-health advice.

2. Information we collect

Account and identity information

  • Email address and authentication identifiers used to create and secure your account.
  • Basic profile details that you choose to provide.
  • Authentication and session information required to keep you signed in securely.

Onboarding and preference information

We may collect the goals, triggers, meditation experience, awareness level, language, notification preferences, reminder times, and similar choices you provide to configure your experience.

Activity and progress information

We collect information about your use of SelfMirror, such as modules opened or completed, meditation sessions, practice progress, reflection completion, reset or sleep content used, weekly or monthly insights generated, and related timestamps.

Reflection and user-submitted content

When you use reflection, Clarity, session-request, or similar features, we process the information you submit. This may include reflection responses, question titles and descriptions, categories, messages, and an optional WhatsApp number supplied with a session request. Please avoid including information that is not necessary for us to provide the requested service.

Device, app, analytics, and diagnostic information

We may collect app version, device and operating-system information, installation identifiers, approximate usage events, screen interactions, performance information, crash logs, error details, and push-notification tokens. We configure analytics events to avoid sending the text of your reflections, Clarity questions, session messages, email address, name, or WhatsApp number as analytics event parameters.

Communications

If you contact us, we may retain your message, email address, and related correspondence so we can respond and maintain support records.

3. How we use information

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
  • Deliver guided content, reflections, progress tracking, personalized app flows, and generated mirrors or insights.
  • Respond to Clarity questions, support requests, and session enquiries.
  • Send service, reminder, reply, and availability notifications according to your settings.
  • Understand feature usage, improve usability, maintain reliability, and diagnose crashes or technical problems.
  • Prevent misuse, enforce applicable terms, and protect users, SelfMirror, and our systems.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations and valid legal requests.

4. Service providers and infrastructure

  • Google Firebase for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and cloud messaging.
  • Google Play services for app distribution and platform functionality.
  • Render for application hosting and database infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare or similar content-delivery services for secure and efficient delivery of website or media assets.
  • Other technical, communications, or professional providers necessary to operate the service.

These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy notices. We limit access to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share the text of your private reflections with advertisers.

  • With service providers so they can operate infrastructure and features for us.
  • With personnel or facilitators who need the information to answer a Clarity question, handle support, or respond to a session request.
  • When required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
  • When reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud and abuse.
  • As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

6. Data retention

We retain account and service data for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide SelfMirror. We may retain support correspondence, security records, backups, and limited technical records for a reasonable period after deletion where necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or reliable backup rotation.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or isolate it from active use, subject to applicable law and technical backup cycles.

7. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network connections where supported. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Change notification permissions through SelfMirror or your device settings.
  • Update available profile and reminder preferences in the app.
  • Stop future collection by discontinuing use and uninstalling the app, noting that uninstalling alone does not delete an existing account.
  • Contact us at info@selfmirror.in regarding a privacy request.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Account and data deletion

You may initiate account deletion from Profile → Delete Account in app versions that support this feature. You may also request deletion outside the app using our Delete Account page or by emailing info@selfmirror.in from the email address associated with your account.

Deletion is intended to remove your SelfMirror account and associated personal data from active systems, including profile, onboarding, progress, reflection, meditation-session, notification-token, Clarity, and related account records, except information we must retain for a legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or backup purpose.

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Some information may remain temporarily in encrypted or access-restricted backups until normal backup rotation completes.

10. Children’s privacy

SelfMirror is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a higher minimum age applies under local law, that higher age applies.

11. International processing

SelfMirror and its service providers may process or store information in India, the United States, Singapore, or other countries where infrastructure or service providers operate. Data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SelfMirror, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date.
